How to upgrade a 9pX project to 10.X
Description:
Solution:
1.) Check read/write permissions on all files of original project
2.) Check shared status of seismic data in Master and Clone projects
(**must unshare all seismic**)
3.) Check to see if there are any missing files in original project
4.) Backup original project
5.) Check all well and marker names for unusual characters
anything but an - or an _ may have trouble upgrading
6.) Run inventory rebuild in IES DataManagement
In Session Manager under Application -> IES DataManagement ->
add data to project -> Add data in IES Format -> Create a New Project
Inventory -> set control parameters to
1 yes
2 no
3 RENAME
4 REBUILD
5 REBUILD
exit -> hit return on first line then exit, wait till rebuild is done
then exit out of IES DataManagement
7.) Select upgrade_9px_to_10px.csh from IESX application selection menu
and hit start button
8.) Run inventory rebuild on 10.X project (repeat step 6)
If upgrade fails because of map files, delete basemap files (map content, map
appearance and map picture). Long names over 20 characters cause problems and
map appearance files do not upgrade.
After upgrade, KB must be updated for each well. All logs assume MD,
must be updated to TVD. Tops need to be imported in IESX DataManager/Markers.
Well paths in time and depth convert and become DVT in upgrade.
If wells are not brought over in the upgrade, from 9.0 to 10.X.:
Unix copy *.well, line_info*, maploc*, formation.top and rebuild inventory
(repeat step 6)
