Topic:
How to delete cartographic data in GeoFrame IESX.
Description:
I loaded cartographic files and one layer is bad. How do I delete cartographic data in GeoFrame 3.1?
Solution:
WORKAROUND: Cartographic data may be deleted in either DataManager or Basemap. 1.) In DataManager: IESX Session Manager > Application > DataManager > Map > Delete.... The Delete map data window comes up. At the bottom of this window press the 'Delete all maps files and all cartographic data'. Unfortunately, this will delete all the cartography, map contents, and map appearance files. 2.) In Basemap: Basemap > File > Delete > Delete culture data. This option does not delete your maps and the maps containing cartography are saved with cartography intact and will have to be deleted manually from the map but deletes the cartography from the database. Other options to consider: Consider using the 'hidden' option to hide the layer in Map Appearance. Select your appearance set, then select the layer in the 'Appearance layers' box, select the 'Hidden' button under 'Layer rendering', and select 'Update'. Or, delete cartography in Basemap, but delete will only effect that map. Basemap > Mode > Map Edit...Delete cartography. Highlights when cursor lands on them, select the layer, then MB3 > delete. Make sure layers are set to 'searchable' in Define > Map Appearance..., otherwise cartography layer will not highlight in delete mode. RESOLUTION: This is scheduled to be fixed by a utility in GeoFrame 3.1.3 that will allow users to remove one layer at a time.
