How to copy a portion of a 3D survey into another project.
Description:
Also, how to merge interpretation on the portioned seismic.
There are three ways to do this.
1.) Create a new project using Project_Rename and null out the seismic
you do not want to see.
2.) Create a new project and share/copy seismic by cdp/line range.
3.) Segy export cdp/line.
range and and reload , export and import interp.
Solution:
Project_Rename method:
1.) Create new project with same projection/units and same number of DSL's as
the original project.
2.) Do a UNIX copy of files from master to new project(s), and run
"project_rename.csh" under "IESX Application Selection" menu. Make sure you
copy Old project/DSL1 to New project/DLS1, etc...
3.) Run Project_rename from the Application Manager and follow intstructions.
See "How to" procedure in "Project_Rename".
4.) In the new project, select DataManager > Seismic > Copy, and toggle
"Option" button to 'null data' to wipe out the data you don't want to see.
5.) For deletion of interpretation from the nulled area, use DataManager >
Interpretation > Delete. Select horizons, faults, and survey(s), but do not
select horizon or fault names under "Select items for deletion". Select
"Change Area" and input cdp/inline range to delete.
To share/copy into new project:
1.) Create new project with same projections/units as original.
2.) DataManager > Seismic > Share, select original project, survey/class and
select 'Share'.
3.) DataManager > Seismic > Copy, select original survey/class and type in a
new output class. Select 'Change Area' and input cdp/line range you want to
copy. Then unshare in DataManager > Seismic > Share.
4.) To merge interpretation over, use DataManager > Interpretation > Merge,
select source "original" project, survey, horizons, faults, fault contacts,
and traces, select destination survey, and select 'Change Area' to select
line/cdp range to copy into to.
To segy export and reload:
1.) In original project, DataManager > Seismic > SEGY export, select
survey/class, set Output parameters, select 'Change Area' to output
cdp/line range to restrict and 'Generate'.
2.) In original project, DataManager > Interpretation > Export, select format,
interpretation, survey, select 'Change Area' to restrict output and input
filename, 'Export'.
3.) In new project, DataManager > Seismic > Load Seismic and reload using same
survey coordinates as before.
4.) In new project, DataManager > Interpretation > Import, select format, input
filename, 'View' and 'Load'.
