Topic:
How to post more than one synthetic on a seismic section.
Description:
There are several synthetic classes generated from the synthetic package and you
want to display more than one synthetic on the seismic section. This is valid
for several synthetics generated for the same well.
Solution:
1.) Create the well set with the desired well.
Session Manager > Application > Interpretation > Seis3DV/2DV > Define >
Well set, select the well, enter a name for the well set and click 'OK'.
2.) Create the vertical well appearance with the class of synthetic desired.
Session Manager > Application > Interpretation > Seis3DV/2DV > Define >
Well appearance > Vertical, click on 'Synthetic options', click on
'Display synthetics'. Set the 'Synthetic location' toggle to 'Placed'*.
Set the paramaters as desired, click 'Dismiss', and either update the
existing appearance by clicking the 'Update' button, or create a new
appearance by entering a name and clicking the 'Create' button. (*When
setting the location toggle to 'Placed', you are allowed to place the
synthetic on your seismic section. When first using the placed option,
the synthetic will appear at the well location until you move the
synthetic with the Tools > Synthetic option in the seismic window.)
3.) Repeat step 2 with a different class of synthetic selected and create or
update a different well appearance.
4.) Post the well with the two different appearance sets from steps 2 and 3.
Session Manager > Application > Interpretation > Seis3DV/2DV > Post >
Wells. In the 'Well posting selection' menu, select the well set (from
step 1), select the appearance set (from step 2), then click the down
arrow. Then, select the well set again, and the appearance set (from
step 3) and click the down arrow. (Note: wells can be posted with
multiple combinations of well sets and appearance sets.) Click the 'Ok'
button.
