Topic:
Is there any way to get my scaled seismic, CGM plot file into something like Power Point?

Description:
After saving a CGM plot file of a scaled seismic line and putting it into Power Point, all the traces were gone and only the timing lines, text and interpretation were there. When the CGM file is viewed in a montage viewer, the traces are there. How can you get exactly what's in that file?

Solution:
The actual type of CGM file that is created from scaled seismic plot, is called a CGM+ file. Most converters or viewers can not handle a CGM+ file. The reason that you can see them in the montage viewer, is because they are one of the few softwares packages that can handle this type of file. Most PC applications can view CGM files, but not CGM+ files, as they are not the same type of file, even though they have the same extention on them. CGM+ is developed to meet the needs of the petroleum industry. This type of extention allows for the seismic traces to be merged with the general CGM format.
