How to grid/contour a time slice.
Description:
In Mapview a time slice can be gridded/contoured using Slice load. See 'Can you
see time slices in Mapview?'
Solution:
1. Post the time slice in the Seismic window. See 'How to post a time slice.'
2. From Seismic menu select Define -> Horizon -> Enter in a Horizon name -> Set
the Snap type to None -> Select Add -> Select Active -> Select Close.
3. Check under User -> Preferences to be sure one of the Auto horizon actions is
set to Extract. By default the Operation 1 will be set to Extract and Operation
2 will be set to Snap.
4. While the cursor is on the seismic, click mouse button three and from the
drop down menu select ~Stream. The mode status at the bottom of the window will
be Interpret (stream).
5. Now go to Define -> Paint brush -> the cursor arrow will become a cross. Move
the cross onto the seismic, click mouse button one, and move the cross to
increase the size of the paint brush. Click mouse button one again to save the
paint brush. The cursor will return in the center of the paint brush.
6. Click mouse button one and move the paint brush across the time slice until
the interpretation covers the entire time slice.
7. Go the Basemap window -> Post -> Interpretation -> Horizons -> highlight the
horizon -> Toggle the Attribute at the bottom of the window to amplitude -> OK
-> OK
8. Go to Gridding -> Input Data -> Select Seismic horizons for the Input Data
Types -> OK -> Select OK on the Basemap Plus Grid/Contour Parameter window to
accept the default parameters.
**Note** Refer to the online documentation for more gridding information.
9. To save the resulting data go to Gridding -> Save As -> Enter in names for
the Grid, Contour Set, or Scatter Set to be saved -> OK.
