How to display CPS contours in Basemap+
Description:
Solution:
To display a contour map that was created in CPS3 in Basemap+ do the following: 1) Display the contours in the main module in CPS3. 2) Save the map to a mapset. 3) Clear your screen. 4) Close both the mapset and the grid using Utilities > Sets > Open/Close menu. 5) Launch the GeoFrame link. 6) Choose the Save to GeoFrame tab. 7) Toggle on the Map and Surface buttons. 8) Select the controls button and set the projection for the GeoFrame project the data is being transferred into. 9) Select the map from the list on the left and transfer it to the list on the right by clicking on the arrow button between the lists. 10) Click the run button and wait for the transfer to finish. If it is a large grid it may take a while. 11) Exit the GF link and launch Basemap+ 12) Inside Basemap, select Post > Interpretation. 13) From the Post Interpretation, menu select Grids/contours. Hit the select button. 14) In the Post Grid and Contours dialog box, select the surface from the list. 15) Pick the grid and pick the contours, click OK. 16) If the grid has fault traces associated with them you will have to select them from the Post Interpretation > Fault boundary sets. 17) Toggle the color spectrum data to grid if you wish to post it, then hit OK. 18) If you wish to see only the contour lines go back into the Post Interpretation menu and turn the grid and the fault traces off. 19) To view the contours, you first have to post the grid so the areal extents of the map can be set.
