How to display time slice data in Basemap?

Description:

Solution:
Time slice posting in Basemap is not supported in GeoFrame 3.5. This objective can be better achieved in GeoViz using the volume tools, nevertheless, a workaround is available for viewing slice data on the Basemap. 1. Display the desired time slice in the Seis3DV/2DV window. 2. Define the horizon in Seis3DV/2DV under Define > Horizon, give it a name, description and set the Snap type to none. Click Add, Active and then Close. 3. Under User > Preferences set Auto horizon action > Operation 1 to Extract and Operations 2 and 3 to None. 4. Put Seis3DV/2DV in interpret mode under Mode > Interpret and then set the interpret mode to Stream by clicking MB3 in the seismic and select ~Stream from the pop up menu. 5. Define the paintbrush size you will interpret with under Define > Paint brush. Move the cursor into the seismic, click MB1, drag the cursor to create the desired brush size and click MB1 to save that brush size. The brush polygon will now track with the cursor. 6. Start interpreting the horizon by clicking MB1 and painting over the time slice until it is completely covered by the interpretation. 7. When the time slice is completely covered, click MB3 > Break to store the interpretation. It will extract the amplitude for all the samples of the time slice and store them as the amplitude attribute for the horizon. 8. Open up the Basemap window and post the horizon under Post > Interpretation... > click the radio button next to Horizons > click Horizons > highlight the horizon name > select the amplitude attribute at the bottom of the window > click OK and then click OK again.
