Topic:
How to delete an IESX 10.X project when the IESX software is not on the system.
Description:
The IESX project is a 10.X project and the IESX 10.X software is no longer on the system. You want to create a GeoFrame project with the same name, but it will not allow this as the IESX project exists. When trying to delete the IESX project from the GeoFrame IESX utilities, it gives an error message that the project is the wrong revision level and it will not delete.
Solution:
You essentially need to have at least the 10.X version of the IESX utilities and the 10.X version of the IESX_FAC_FILE to delete the project from the system. To do so, follow the steps listed below: 1.) Request the following IESX 10 files from an IESX Support Representative or restore them from backup: /home/gqs/exetree_sunsparc/level_10p2/iesxprog/iesx_util /home/gqs/exetree_sunsparc/level_10p2/iesxprog/iesx_util.csh /home/gqs/exetree_sunsparc/level_10p2/messages/iesx.fac (These are the files as they stand on a GeoQuest internal machine. If you are pulling them from backup, then the files will be in the exetree*/level_10*/iesxprog and exetree*/level_10*/messages directories.) 2.) In a GeoFrame xterm: unsetenv IESX_FAC_FILE setenv IESX_FAC_FILE /full/path/to/iesx.fac (where the '/full/path/to/iesx.fac' is the full pathname to the iesx.fac file.) 3.) In the GeoFrame xterm run the IESX 10 utilities: /full/path/to/iesx_util (where '/full/path/to/iesx_util' is the full path to the iesx_util file.) 4.) Type #3 in the IESX_Util menu, and enter project name and password. Type #99 in the IESX_Util menu to exit the utilities. Exit the GeoFrame xterm. The IESX 10.X project has now been deleted from the system, and the project name is now available for creating a GeoFrame project. Make certain that you delete all the project directories to clean up your system before creating the new project.
