How to get X,Y co-ordinates to display as the cursor tracks around Basemap.

Solution:
By selecting User > Readouts, you can set what is displayed in the eight
Standard Readout boxes at the bottom right of Basemap and also set up
Supplemental Readouts that will "float" on the Basemap screen.
 
Click the red X next to the Readout box you want to modify in order to clear it.
Next, highlight the X,Y Coordinates Readout Type you want displayed
and while holding down MB1, drag it to the desired Readout box. Click 'OK'. 

Repeat this process for each Readout Type you want displayed on Basemap.
