How to combine two fault boundary sets into one.
Description:
PROBLEM: Basemap does NOT allow multiple fault boundary sets to be merged
into one. (It does allow for the reassignment of fault boundary sets
from one fault to another). The concept of multiple fault boundary
sets per horizon is typically not utilized in IESX workflow but is
used in other GeoFrame applications.
Solution:
WORKAROUND: Use Data Manager > Interpretation > Import / Export to merge
multiple fault boundary sets into one.
(Workaround assumes that set1 and set2 exist for the horizon, and
they are to be merged into set1).
1.) In Basemap, make set2 the preferred fault boundary set.
2.) Export the fault boundaries from set2 into an ASCII file using
IESX Data Manager > Interpretation > Export (fault boundaries are exported
from a preferred set only).
3.) In Basemap, make set1 the preferred fault boundary set.
4.) Import the interpretation from ASCII file using IESX Data Manager >
Interpretation > Import. Imported fault boundaries always go into
the preferred set for that horizon (you also have an option of
overriding fault name if necessary).
5.) In General Data Manager delete set2 if desired.
