How to create a composite amplitude grid, and honor data without filling holes?
Description:
Create a composite amplitude map without smoothing the data or infilling blank areas.
Solution:
1.) Convert Horizon Attribute to Surface Grid:
a.) IESX Data Manager > Interpretation > Surface
b.) Select survey and surface
c.) Toggle transfer mode to "Horizon attribute => Surface grid"
d.) Select "AMPL" attribute
e.) Enter new grid name
f.) OK
g.) Repeat steps a through f for each amplitude event.
2.) Create the composite amplitude grid from the two grids in IESX Basemap:
a.) Gridding > Grid Operations > Binary
b.) Select Grid 1 (e.g., peak)
c.) Select Grid 2 (e.g., trough)
d.) Set the correct grid operator switch (e.g., minus)
e.) OK.
3.) If satisfied with displayed result, save the resultant grid:
a.) Gridding > Save As...
b.) Select an Output surface container for the grid
c.) Enter Grid Name and Description (optional)
c.) OK.
