Topic:
Can I insert control points to guide gridding in GeoFrame 3.5?

Description:
I have several areas with no data where I would like to insert control points.

Solution:
Here is how you would create a grid using your seismic values and control points. 1. Post the interpretation you want to grid, grid it, and go to Grid > Save As..., toggle on "Save input data points to scatter set", give the scatter set a name, and click OK. Give the grid and Contour Set names if you want to save them. If you do not, just leave the names blank and answer "No" to the Confirmation boxes that come up after you click "OK". 2. Using a text editor, create a 3 column file containing the X, Y and time of each control point you want to use. 3. Load the file as a scatter set with ASCII Load, making sure the control file specifies the correct Property Code (usually "Time") and Property unit (in this case "ms"). When you have defined the control file, specify the Target Surface (the one you just gridded in Basemap), and click Run. This will load a new scatter set into your surface. 4. Back in Basemap, under Post > Interpretation, toggle on Scatter Sets, and select both of the scatter sets you have just created for posting. 5. Go to Gridding > Input Data > and under "Input data types", select Scatter Sets, and click OK. Now select your gridding parameters, and the resultant grid will be the product of both your interpretation and the control points.
