How to convert fault grid to fault segments?
Description:
A fault grid is created from a set of fault segments to infill within the
interpreted lines. How do you use the gridded fault, where no fault segments
are picked, to convert it to fault segments?
Solution:
1. Save the fault grid and display it on the seismic section.
2. Set the fault, for which the fault segments are to be created, as active.
3. Select the fault for interpreting.
4. Click on the grid with MB3, and in the pop up menu select "grid copy".
5. A fault segment with several nodes is generated based on the grid.
6. The segment is along the displayed line only.
Note: The "grid copy" button does not distinguish between fault grids and
horizon grids. Therefore make sure that the fault button is clicked on when
converting fault grid to fault segments.
Note: A horizon can be turned into a fault with this method if a horizon grid
is displayed on the seismic section.
