How to split a horizon into two different horizons for 2d data.
Description:
The interpretation needs to be split as a function of location. For example,
all of the interpretation east of a north-south line will belong to one horizon
and all of the interpretation west of the same line will belong to another
horizon.
Solution:
One option is to areal copy the horizon to a new name and then delete the
portions of each horizon as desired. (Seis#DV->Areal->Horizon Copy
OR
1. Define the area that you want to copy to a new horizon as an inclusion
boundary (Edit->Boundaries->Inclusive Data).
2. Post the source horizon.
3. Grid the horizon within the boundary (Basemap->Gridding->Input Data), and
save the grid to new horizon (Basemap->Gridding->Save As...).
4. Then surface transfer the Z attribute from the grid to the horizon (IESX Data
Manager->Interpretation->Surface...). Select the Domain, Survey, 2D Lines,
Surface(horizon), Grid, enter the string "Z" in the name field below the
Attribute list, Click the Add to Transfer List button and then click the
Transfer button.
Go through the above process for each area which the source horizon is to be
divided into.
