Solution:
1) Surface cut the grid to a horizon attribute. Data Manager > Interpretation > Surface... -select the survey, surface name just created, Transfer mode of 'Surface grid => Horizon attribute', Grid, and type in the attribute name of TIME (must be upper case). Add to Transfer list and Click Transfer. 2) Export the horizon attribute to an ASCII file. a. IESX Data Manager > Interpretation > Export... b. Select and edit a format file: Click on the 'Select/define format' button and the 'User Defined Output Format' menu will open. c. Select the appropriate definition file from the list and then click on the 'Data Format' button. The 'Define Data Format' menu will open. d. In the menu, turn off all the toggles except for the x, y and time (or 'Other Attribute 1' toggle). e. If the grid was saved to the horizon's time attribute, then leave the time toggle turned on. f. If the grid was saved to a different attribute, then turn off the time toggle, and turn on the 'Other Attribute 1' toggle, and enter values for the start and end column, and data type. g. Then click the 'OK' button. Back in the 'User Defined Output Format' menu, enter a format file name which has an '.iudf' extension (i.e. test.iudf), click the Save button and then the 'OK' button. h. Back in the 'Export Interpretation Data' menu, select the export area (the survey), turn on the horizon toggle for export, select the horizon (and the time attribute or the other attribute) and click the 'Export' button. i. An ASCII file will be output to your login directory with the following name: ides_date_time.p701
