How to bypass the update volume statistics when loading seismic.

Solution:
In a GeoFrame Xterm set the following environment variable.

>setenv IESX_SDIX_NOSTAT true

-or-

>setenv IESX_SDIX_NOSTAT 1

Start GeoFrame from the Xterm by typing pm& and load the volume.  The update
volume statistics will not be run on the volume as part of the load when this
variable is set.  Before using the volume in IESX, make sure to use the IESX
Utility option 32, Update seismic volume statistics, to update the volume.
