Topic:
How to copy interpretation between overlapping surveys in the same project.
Description:
We have overlapping 3D surveys with interpretation in one but not the other. How can we copy the horizon interpretation from one survey to the other when the inlines and crosslines are different? Ascii export/import is not an option.
Solution:
1.) In Data Manager > Interpretation > Surface, transfer the horizon attribute to a grid: a. Select (highlight) the source survey. b. Toggle on Horizon attribute => Surface grid. c. Select (highlight) the Z attribute and input a grid name or leave blank. (It will create a default grid name if you leave it blank) d. Select 'Add to Transfer list'. e. Select Transfer. 2.) In the same menu, transfer the grid to a horizon attribute: a. Select (highlight) the destination survey. b. Toggle on Surface grid => Horizon attribute. c. Select (highlight) the surface name, grid name, and Z attribute. d. Select 'Add to Transfer list'. e. Select 'This one' in the popup Confirm Overwrite window. f. Select Transfer. 3.) In Seis3DV, use areal extract to establish amplitude information for the horizon in the destination survey: Seis3DV > Areal > Amplitude extraction.
