Topic:
How to export seismic using a polygonal path.
Description:
How can seismic data be output to SEGY or sent to a different project using a polygonal path so that the rest of the seismic is not seen by the users?
Solution:
Use Computation Manager to create the seismic volume and Data Manager to export the volume. This a work around because Datamanager => Seismic => export only supports rectangular paths. 1) Edit and save the polygonal path on the basemap. 2) In Computational Manager select Seismic Processing (OK). 3) From the SeisAn applications select Seismic Bulk Shift. This will automatically ask for the bulk shift value to be input. Put in 0 ms as the bulk shift to be applied. 4) Select File => Survey Select the Survey and class of data for the input data. Select an output class or type in a new name for attribute volume. 5) Click on Path and select the polygonal path. Click OK to accept parameters. 6) Click on Start to generate the seismic volume that will be limited by the polygonal path. The rest of the survey is padded with blank traces. 7) To output this data you still have to use a rectangular path. Define a rectangular path (as close to the polygonal path as possible). 8) Datamanager => Seismic => Segy Export => Select the survey and the new class of data that was created using the polygonal path => Bulk Shift.
