Topic:
How can I make a copy of my fault boundary set?
Description:
There is no direct way to make a copy of my fault boundary set, but there are two workarounds.
Solution:
One way to get a copy of a fault boundary set is to export the set, create a new boundary set, set it to preferred and import. To export a fault boundary set: 1. First be sure the boundary set is "set preferred". It will not export otherwise. You can check this in Basemap => Edit => Fault Boundaries => Manage Set. Select the horizon and [preferred] will appear next to it in the select boundary set window if it is set preferred. 2. From the IESX_DataManager (Session Manager => Applications => DataManager), choose Interpretation>export. 3. Select the format to export in, Items to export, turn on Fault Boundary. The rest of the screen is optional. At the bottom of the window, click on Export. The file will be sent to your user's home directory, this path appears on the screen when the export finishes. Another way to get a copy of a fault boundary set is to copy the horizon with the boundary set option toggled on. 1. In Seis%DV>Areal>Horizon Copy. 2. Choose the area of operation, domain, input horizon, type a new name in for output horizon, and toggle on "copy fault boundaries", click on operate. This will give you a new horizon with the fault boundary set named IESX_Fault_Trace_Set. You may now rename it. This new set will be set preferred for the copied horizon.
