How to patch an IESX 10 project when the application software is not installed.

Description:
The IESX project is version 10.X. However, the IESX 10.X software is no longer installed on the system. How can the project be restored?


Solution:
Essentially the minimum requirement to restore the project is to obtain copies of the 10.X versions of the 'iesx_patch', 'iesx_patch.csh' and 'iesx.fac' files. To complete the restoration follow the steps listed below: 1) Request the following IESX 10.X files from an IESX Support Representative or restore them from backup: /home/gqs/exetree_sunsparc/level_10p2/iesxprog/iesx_patch /home/gqs/exetree_sunsparc/level_10p2/iesxprog/iesx_patch.csh /home/gqs/exetree_sunsparc/level_10p2/messages/iesx.fac (These are the files as they stand on a GeoQuest internal machine. If you are restoring them from backup, then the files will be in the : exetree*/level_10*/iesxprog and exetree*/level_10*/messages directories. 2) In a GeoFrame xterm: unsetenv IESX_FAC_FILE setenv IESX_FAC_FILE /full/path/to/iesx.fac (where the '/full/path/to/iesx.fac' is the full pathname to the iesx.fac file.) 3) In the GeoFrame xterm run the IESX 10 patch: /full/path/to/iesx_patch (where '/full/path/to/iesx_patch' is the full path to the iesx_patch file) put the iesx_patch.csh in the same directory as the iesx_patch 4) See Knowledge Base entry on how to patch project: Product: IESX Application : IESX patch Version: 10.2 SearchType: How To Synopsis: How to patch an archived project into IESX.
