March 10, 2012. Dallas and I skied at Arapahoe Basin. The day was clear and the view of the East Wall was seally spectacular. I skied several runds with Dallas on the A-Basin side. We then met up with Hannah and Claire and ate lunch together at the Base Lodge. Afterwards, Hannah and I went over to Montezuma Basin and skied two trails there, Black Bear (which is ungroomed) and Larkspur. We fond an interesting chute on the A-Basin side on the way back. The uphill section is called Falcon and the lower, East Gulley. We met up with Dallas, who had given Claire a lesson. Dallas and I then skied another run, including the chute and a glade along the edge of a wide trail.
March 17, 2012. Dallas and I again skied Arapahoe Basin. We arrived early, just at the 8:30AM opening, and the air was still below freezing. We actually experienced wintery conditions for a change. I found them refreshing. We shied only the A-Basin side, doing intermediate (blue) trails. Twice we went up to Cornice Run and skied the West Wall, a steep head wall. We had luch at the base lodge and left afterwardw. By noon, the day had warmed up and many people, lightly dressed, with some in St. Partick's Day costume, we barbequeing in the parking lot. I noticed some small winged insects on the melting snow.
