[Journal entry for March 30, 2012; Lamoine State Park] I stopped by the small park early in the morning. Being early spring, with an inch of snow on the ground, no one was about. It has a warden house, a drive-up type campground and a waterfront. A rescue boat facility adjoins the park. There is no beach, proper, just mud flats and two old stone piers, studdy but in disrepair. The view across Desert Narrows to the highlands of Acadia National Park is very nice. My Cadillac has only a dusting of snow. On the way back from the shore, I walk fome loops of the campground. I pass a tree house and a stone sculpture.
