[Journal entry for March 21, 2014; Clear Creek, near Golden Colorado]. While driving from Frisco to Boulder to pick up Dallas, who was attending an NSF-sponsored conference there, I stopped several times along Route 6 to view Clear Creek. The creek is in a picturesque canyon, with many pull-offs for easy and safe parking. I stopped at about five of them to view different aspects of the creek: narrow spots where it roared down cascades set right against the canyon wall, wide spots where it flowed more slowly past gravel bars covered with willow. I also visited a couple of small tributary streams, that flowed down rock faces in gulches.
I spent five to ten minutes at each of these stops, so perhaps a half-hour, overall.
