<>LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
Lynn Sykes is talking about the great San Francisco earthquake
for
our public lecture series this Sunday afternoon, and we have
a
reception and dinner event following, that we are confident
will be a
great success.
No traveling this week, which was a welcome respite, and so
I managed
to catch up with a million overdue administrative tasks. Next
week I
go to England - primarily for a family wedding - but also
to
represent Lamont at the formal memorial service for our great
friend
Sir Nick Shackleton, that will take place on Saturday in the
classic
Great St. Mary's Church in Cambridge City Center.
I am losing my view over the river, as the leaves emerge,
and the
woodchuck who keeps the grass trimmed outside my office has
emerged
for the first time (where does he go in the winter?) - so
I guess
spring has finally arrived.
Have a great weekend!
- Mike
