My academic history:

I graduated with a "laurea" diploma in physics from the University of Trieste (Italy) in 1995. After short stints at COLA (Calverton, MD) and IMGA (Modena, Italy, now INVG),  I went to Seattle for  graduate school.
    I received my
MS (2000) and PhD (2003) from the Atmospheric Sciences Department at the University of Washington. David Battisti and Ed Sarachik were my advisors.
Since January 2004 I work as a postdoc at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University.

Current research interests:
I am interested in atmospheric and climate dynamics. So far, I have been working on what controls the location and intensity of tropical precipitation at seasonal and longer timescales. Recent projects and/or new avenues of research include:
CV and Journal Publications
