<> LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
I write this in Lerner Hall as Governor Pataki presents his
keynote address to the CU250 Symposium 'Earth's Future: Taming
the Climate', an event the planning and organization of which
has consumed a substantial fraction of my time over the past
weeks and months, and this week, besides a quick trip to NSF
on Wednesday morning and the annual budget meeting with Provost
Brinkley on Tuesday, has required essentially all my attention.
I am pleased to report that it has been a very successful
and provocative symposium - and if you have interest in watching
some of the presentations keep an eye on the CU250 website
- key talks will be posted there over the next few weeks.
In order not to appear impolite to the Governor, I shall
keep this report short. For me next week brings another trip
to Washington, DC, this time to serve on a Marine Mammal Commission
Advisory Committee.
Have a good weekend,
– Mike
