<>LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

I was away all week - purportedly vacation - but I am beginning to
believe the definition of a vacation day is a day spent taking twice
as long to keep up on email because of the slow baud rate on remote
internet links. But I should not complain - despite the fact that a
stalled front over the east coast brought fog, thunderstorms, 25 knot
winds, lightening and torrential rain, nevertheless I had a great
time sailing to Block Island and back, and succeeded without loss of
life or limb. Remarkable really.

Off to Galveston first thing Monday morning to visit R/V Marcus G.
Langseth - I will report on that undoubtedly notable trip next Friday.

Have a good one.

- Mike
