I hope everyone made it through the snow storm on Wednesday without too much difficulty or inconvenience - it was a difficult decision to decide to close Lamont, but as the forecast proved to be accurate, it was, this time at least, the right call.
A couple of congratulatory notes: Bob Anderson has been awarded the C.C. Paterson Award by the Geochemical Society, for publishing an important and innovative breakthrough in environmental chemistry; and Philipp Ruprecht, one of our new post docs has won a highly competitive von Humboldt fellowship. Many congratulations to both.
A short report this week - I am down in Charleston SC visiting my new grandson for the first time - now I have to figure out what a grandfather is supposed to do... it seems there is always something...
Have a good weekend,
Mike
